Why I do what I do?
I believe in finding your why in life. Why is it you do the things that you do? You should ask yourself this and I believe it will bring you some clarity as well as guidance in life. For me, I've always wanted to help people that are in need by providing to them a solution.
So I thought to myself well what am I passionate about? This was hard for me and it took until I bought my first house to figure it out. August 1st of 2020 I took the risk and bought my first house right in the middle of a pandemic and a stimulus fueled housing market. This was exciting, yet terrifying time did I pay too much for my house? should I have waited till the "perfect" time to buy?
I have always been one to act when others are weary so I pressed forward. To offset the majority of my mortgage I decided I should rent out my two spare bedrooms, So I did. After doing this a few months I knew what I was passionate about which was Real Estate. This was great and all but I now knew I needed to figure out how I could combine this with my why, helping others in need by providing them solutions.
This took a couple years of trial and error in the real estate field. I then caught a break and found out about section 8 rentals. This changed everything for me. I now knew how I could help people out that are in need and it was now just a matter of putting the pieces together.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with what Section 8 housing is I'll explain it. It's low income housing that is subsidized through the government. Being in the midst of a global pandemic Section 8 housing has and is at a all time low leaving low income families no place to call home.
I am currently scouting out the best markets for the program and investing in properties then renting them out through the Section 8 program creating a "win win" scenario for both me and the families I am now providing housing for.
